Nathalie Chevreau

Dr. Chevreau has spent the past 26 years lending her scientific knowledge to the research, design, development, validation and support of a long line of successful nutraceutical and cosmetic formulations… including some of the best selling products of the last decade.

Before starting Chevreau Consulting LLC, she worked as the chief scientist and product developer for an international marketing company that sold nutraceuticals and high-end cosmetics via direct response and prestige stores like Nordstrom’s, Macy’s and Sephora, among others.  She has developed over 35 nutraceutical and cosmetic formulas for diet and weight loss, body contouring and skin health. She was the driving force behind the development of StriVectin-SD®, the legendary ‘stretch-mark cream turned anti-wrinkle phenomenon’ marketed by Klein-Becker USA®.

To ensure that product claims were scientifically substantiated, she thoroughly and extensively reviewed and analyzed information and data from the published literature and ingredient suppliers. She has written comprehensive research summaries for each product and assembled the substantiation used to support claims and keep products on the market.

When product advertising or efficacy claims came under scrutiny from the FTC or other investigative bodies (i.e. Congressional Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations), her role was to defend the science behind the products. In fact, her scientific credibility was publically acknowledged at a Congressional hearing on June 16, 2004, where Representative Diana DeGette (Colorado) said of her testimony: “You seem to be the only one with any kind of scientific background here that might lend itself to development of dietary supplements.” One of the chief attorneys on the case said of Dr. Chevreau, “Nathalie is one of a kind… we need more scientists like her.”

Born and educated in France, Dr. Chevreau has been living and working in the US for over 28 years, giving her a unique understanding of both American and European business and scientific cultures. Her extensive product development experience, scientific know-how and understanding of the US dietary supplement industry and regulatory environment make Dr. Chevreau an invaluable asset to any company wishing to enter the North American market… helping clients ‘get it right’ the first time… saving money, false starts and resources needed to meet and defend regulatory challenges.

Nathalie Chevreau received a BS in organic chemistry and a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Bordeaux, France. She did her postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University and has a Masters in Food and Nutrition from the University of Utah. She has been an adjunct professor in the Division of Foods and Nutrition at the University of Utah, working as a guest lecturer to students in the Master’s program, to medical students and residents. She has published several peer reviewed articles and presented research posters at national conferences in the USA.  Dr. Chevreau is fluent in both French and English.
