Scientific support and regulatory guidance to get nutraceutical
finished products or raw materials ready for the US market.

Nathalie Chevreau

For the last 25 years, I have designed, conducted and directed scientifically sound product research, development and clinical work in nutrition and chemistry for the dietary supplement and cosmetic industries. I can count at least 65 products that I have personally developed during that time. I have served as expert witness including 3 in this year only (2022)

Regulatory compliance based on scientific credibility is invaluable in the industry of dietary supplements where rules tend to be pushed into the grey area and lawsuits are common. I am a scientific expert who understand the need for safe, well designed and properly manufactured supplements. As an fact or expert witness, I have worked well with lawyers who found me a credible witness which resulted in successful litigation. I am comfortable to be on a stand and scientifically defend arguments related to dietary supplements, functional foods and skin care products.

For 9 years I was the Scientific and Product Developer Director for a marketing company that aggressively sold weight loss products and advanced cosmetics. I scientifically defended high-profile products that came under scrutiny from the FTC and/or from Congress and its Congressional Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. During this time, I testified and was deposed in 10 class action suits and twice in front of the FTC.

I have held long term executive positions as the Chief Science Officer at Vascular Health Science LLC and as the Senior VP of Research and Development at LifeVantage Corporation (LFVN). I was responsible for managing company’s research needs for new product ideation, product discovery and scientific partnership that fitted the company’s overall strategy and budget. My duties also included spearheading new research projects to develop the science behind dietary supplements and skin care products to support safety and compliance with FDA and FTC regulatory frameworks, and articulating scientifically flawless arguments to protect intellectual property.

I have published 11 peer-reviewed scientific articles, hold 3 granted patents, and have written 8 patent applications.

I received a BS in organic chemistry and a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Bordeaux, France. I did her postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University and have a Masters in Food and Nutrition from the University of Utah. I have been an adjunct professor in the Division of Foods and Nutrition at the University of Utah, working as a guest lecturer to students in the Master’s program, to medical students and residents. I am fluent in both French and English.
